What makes me sad,

Is the beauty of the moments we shared in my head,

That failed to materialize.

It felt like you were there, near me,

In those magical fragments,

Small and burrowed in my mind.

Green eyes, radiating in the sunlight,

Curious fingertips, dancing in your hair,

Generous smiles, filling in the silence.

Lazy arms, curling around each other,

Shared breaths, synchronizing in rhythym,

Stillness, dancing between us in glory.

This never came true,

Yet my brain retraces these moments,

Trying to find your closeness again,

But only realizes,

The longest hug we had,

was a hug of goodbye.
