Every moment outside, I look at what used to be our window and wonder if I’ll see glimpses of life.
Will there be a yellowous joy or a green, raging sorrow?
With the lights off, I imagine you out and about, naïvely existing.
I always envied how carefree you could be.
Stress exists outside of your body: eating fine, sleeping fine, living to see what the next moment has to offer.
Today, my day was spent sleeping, lazy muscles groggily moved about within my own treehouse.
I enjoyed myself: enjoyed getting to sleep more without wandering eyes, enjoyed my own company as my bouncing mind took me from project to project.
A half started puzzle, a new tea nook, a cleaned sofa turned upside down to dry faster.
It feels like I turned my life upside down to heal faster, tipping the jar over and aggressively shaking it so each inch of dirt would fall out.
I’ve refilled my jar with colorful marbles. They jingle and shine in the morning sun that pours into my window. They look like candy, and I wonder if they taste sweet.
I’m bitter and sour now, but give me some time.
I’ll taste sweet.
