This book was mediocre at best. The running joke of rhymes and alliteration throughout the book was annoying, and the “instant chemistry” angle between the protagonists felt underdeveloped. The characters lacked buildup, and I found myself disinterested. I liked the female lead, Diana, a secret detective journalist from a rough background. It’s very Bridgerton, and that is what kept me interested enough to finish the book.
