A classic “secret-pen-pals-turned-lovers” romcom, I enjoyed the awkward, introverted chemistry both main characters had. It was a charming story of finding yourself and defining individual identity while having steamy tension with the neighbor next door. The plot was beautifully executed (maintaining tension but limiting unnecessary frustration). Reading it after I Hope This Finds You Well, the trauma angle stood out because I could have a direct comparison for the two books. I was scared of Nick’s (the male lead) trauma being a crutch throughout the story in line, but the author did an amazing job unraveling it and convincingly infusing it within the character’s thoughts and actions. It was a fun read!
